Windows 10 End of Support – What does this mean?

Many are not aware that all computers running Windows 10 are considered end of life. As of October 14 2025, Microsoft is no longer releasing patches or security updates for the Windows 10 operating system. Luckily Windows 11 is free. Just go to Windows Updates and download the Windows 11 upgrade.

Unfortunately, many systems will not pass the Windows 11 hardware test and will be unable to proceed with installing the update. This is a horrible digital disaster that will create a large amount of electronic waste, and so Treasure Coast Computer is here to help prevent this from happening.

Running a system on your network is not only a severe risk for the windows 10 computer, but it also acts like a gateway for other viruses or trojans that can infect your other computers on the network. This is a big problem. Please see our blog our Home Network Vulnerabilities.

You still have options:

  1. Continue using the Windows 10 operating system at your own risk!
  2. Retire the computer running Windows 10 and add to the EWASTE problem. You may have data to save, and might want to reformat the hard drive before disposing of the computer. Treasure Coast Computers can help.
  3. Contact Treasure Coast Computers! Our experience technicians have Microsoft approved guidelines on how to disable certain hardware, bypass checks, or replace hardware such as memory or hard drives enabling the computer to install the Windows 11 update.

If your system was running a licensed windows 10 operating system, it will be automatically licensed with Windows 11.
